Week of Jan. 22, 2013

I hope you are enjoying The Giver and reading it carefully!  This week you will read chapters 7-10.  Don't forget to work on your vocab predictions while you are reading.    Start observing your classmate and start thinking about the perfect assignment for him or her.  Make sure that you can justify the assignment by telling about your classmates talents, qualities and traits.  Our Ceremony of 13 will be next Thur.

Week of Jan. 14, 2013

We will read chapters 3-6 in The Giver this week.  Make sure you keep up with the reading so you will be ready for Friday's quiz.  Also, reading memos (called Giver Memos for this unit) will be due each week.

Happy New Year!  We are starting of 2nd semester with a class novel.  We will spend the next 6 weeks reading The Giver by Lois Lowry.  Chapters will be assigned each week as well as vocab words and other activities related to the book.
